The challenge given to me on this project was to create a package that revolved around the idea of cats' desire to eat "people food". Specifically, this meant lunchmeat or other fresh meaty treats. I came up with the idea of cats peering into a window, longing for a friendly deli counter worker to throw them a tasty treat.
I utilized the gable box package to simulate the facade of what could be a small town storefront, conveying a sense of familiarity and warmth that resonated with cat owners. Each flavor is designated by color, with an additional pictograph of the type of meat inside. The "window" allowed consumers to actually see the product and highlighted the meaty qualities of the cat treats. I worked with a contracted illustrator to fully realize my vision of the cats and facade.
